Pakistan’s minorities have protested to demand equal rights for citizens regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.
They have asked for electoral reforms and said the law stating a minority member cannot become Prime Minister or President should be scrapped.

The group, which gathered at the press club, also asked to be given the right of dual voting so they can elect their representatives.

The Supreme Court has previously found that the inaction on the part of law enforcement agencies was on account of the lack of proper understanding of the relevant law.

People in positions of power are not necessarily aware of the rights of minorities despite the constitution stating they have a special status
