Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has initiated a crackdown on Christian TV Channels.

This has caused grievance among Pakistani Christians and it is being argued that the move threatens social harmony in the country.

On September 23, PEMRA issued notices to ban 11 Christian TV channels

Christians have expressed their disappointment over the decision and branded it a set back to interfaith harmony, leading them to feel further isolated.

The also complained that only Christian TV channels had been forced off air.

Christians believes the government is only using the requirement for a permit to prevent the stations from propagating and disseminating the Christian message to Pakistan.
