Minorities’ persecution: If extremist elements do not recede they will face the law, says President of Pakistan
The President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain said that extremist elements that target religious minorities in the country will be hooked.
He added that religious minorities have faced adversity a number of times, something which had tainted national harmony.
He clarified that violence against religious minorities is contrary to Islamic teachings and warned extremists that if they did not stop creating divisions in the country, the law would not spare them.
He further praised the role of minorities in the establishment of Pakistan saying that they stood side by side with the Muslims and played a pivotal role in the creation of the country.
Religious minorities, especially Christians have been instrumental in the development and progress of the country, and said the rise in violence against them is alarming.
