Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has said Asia Bibi is fine and will soon be leaving the country.

Christian Asia Bibi was sentenced to death by hanging in 2010 after being accused of blasphemy.

But the conviction was overturned by Pakistan’s Supreme Court last year.

It upheld the decision to overturn her conviction and death sentence in January 2019, but she is yet to leave Pakistan.

But on Tuesday Mr. Khan offered some hope, telling the BBC that she would be departing the country “very soon”.

He said there was a little complication that he couldn’t speak publicly about, but that Bibi was safe and would be leaving Pakistan in the coming weeks.
