In a deeply disturbing incident from the 42 Model area of Tehsil Sangla Hill, District Nankana Sahib, a Christian woman named Sheeza Bibi was allegedly gang-raped. The victim and her husband, Intikhab Masih, have not only shared the trauma they endured but have also accused the local police of negligence, abuse, and coercion. According to Intikhab, he was employed by a man named Mohsin, who falsely told him that a police case had been registered against him and advised him to leave his house temporarily to avoid arrest. Trusting him, Intikhab left for approximately two and a half hours.

During his absence, Mohsin and his accomplices allegedly broke into the house and raped Sheeza in the presence of their 3-year-old daughter. “When I returned, my wife was crying uncontrollably. She told me what Mohsin and his friends did to her,” said Intikhab.

“Later, Mohsin came back, handed me Rs. 1,100, and told me to leave again because the police were on their way.” When the couple went to the local police station to register a complaint, they say they were met with hostility. Intikhab claims that the police inspector verbally abused them and refused to record their statement respectfully. A police clerk named Sikandar allegedly ordered a female constable to slap Sheeza, and Intikhab himself was physically assaulted.

“We were forced to sign a fabricated statement without our consent,” he said. “Then they kicked us out of the station. Later, they even offered us a bribe — between Rs. 120,000 to 150,000 — to withdraw the case.” Although the police showed brief cooperation the following day, the couple claims that harassment and threats soon resumed.

“This was not a random incident,” Intikhab explained. “I had worked for them for eight months. They used the false police case as a pretext to trap me and assault my wife. Mohsin and his friends threatened to kill me, my wife, and our daughter if we spoke up.” Sheeza confirmed the threats and described the horror she endured: “While I was being raped, my daughter cried and screamed in front of me. One of them held her while the others assaulted me. We were completely helpless. No one came to help. These men must be held accountable.”

Intikhab also stated that the First Information Report (FIR) was written entirely by the police without consultation, and Sikandar (police Officer) forced him to thumbprint it. “We are poor people,” he said. “But we are demanding justice.

We appeal to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take immediate notice and provide us justice.”

This case underscores a broader crisis in Pakistan, where Christian and Hindu women and girls face rising incidents of violence, including abduction, rape, forced conversion, and coerced marriage. Too often, such victims are denied justice due to their minority status, poverty, and lack of legal protection. Our legal team is actively working on the case and representing the family in court to ensure justice is served.
