A six-year-old Pakistani Christian girl has been shot dead in a debt row.

In Faisalabad a Christian family took out a Rs 40,000 loan from a Muslim group of money lenders on compound interest.

When they failed to pay back the monthly interest in time the lender along with an armed mob attacked their home and killed a six-year-old girl.

Christian Waris Masih borrowed the money but on November 28 Muslim Mohammad Ajmal Urf Mithu Cheema went to his house and demanded the money.

However, when Masih requested more time to make the payment, Cheema became furious and started firing from his pistol.

Warris’ six-year-old daughter Sicilia Maerah, was shot in the incident and died in hospital.

The local police registered a case against the Muslim money lender but did not arrest him.
