A Pakistani Christian woman has gone missing after going to buy shampoo on October 25. Saima Javed has not returned home since then and her family is anxious for any news about her.

On October 30 the agitated family of the victim, led by her father Javed Masih, staged a protest on the road leading to Cavalry ground, burning tyres and blocking the road.

It emerged that the police have been shunning the desperate Christian family and delaying taking action in the case.
The family says that soon after the incident they went to R.A. Bazar Police Station and were told them the case was under the jurisdiction of Naseerabad Police Station.

But when Saima’s family arrived at Naseerabad Police Station, they were told that an FIR could not be registered because the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of R.A. Bazar Police Station.

It was not until October 29 that an FIR (First Information Report) was registered. However, the police are yet to take action as no progress has been made in this case.

Saima’s family have reportedly searched for her in every hospital and her brother has urged the Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar to take notice of the incident and direct police officials to take quick action in order to recover Saima.

He said the CM should take notice of the reluctant attitude of the police, owing to the fact that the complainants are Christians.
