The Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Bill 2018 reportedly recommends sentencing those who disrespect the Quran to life in prison, while a person committing blasphemy or making false blasphemy accusations should be hanged to death.

It also suggests someone making derogatory statements against religious scholars be jailed for three years.

Furthermore, the bill recommends to fine and sentence Ahmedis for three years for declaring themselves Muslims or preaching their ideology.

According to the bill, someone spreading offensive material against a religion to hurt the sentiments of people belonging to that religious class will be jailed for ten years or a fine or both.

Anyone who insults the prescription of the Holy Quran, will be punished with life imprisonment whereas a person guilty of humiliation will also be punished.
