Exempt christians from shariah laws
Pakistan runs on a dual justice system; the Pakistan penal code and Islamic Sharia Laws which were introduced during the General Zia Ul Haq’s reign as one of his many amendments to the constitution and his process to Islamise the county’s law. He also constituted federal shariah court and made shariah as supreme law of the country. At the several occasions it is said by the government officials that Christians and other religious minorities are exempted and cannot be convicted under the Shariah law but Christians often fall victim to Shariah laws. Muslim religious groups get involved and try to influence the police and the courts and victims’ families seem very helpless while the perpetrators are encouraged.
